Reiki & Restorative with Chris

Sunday

April
Chris will lead you through a classic restorative yoga class. Savor the deep relaxation of supported postures, allowing your body to release stress & tension.

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese energy healing technique that improves profound relaxation and inner peace. It is done by having a practitioner lay their hands on various areas of the student’s body and become a bridge facilitating the flow of chi or ki in Japanese throughout the student’s body. Students might feel a warm flow of energy or vibration that promotes deep relaxation, and stress-reduction, and can even alleviate pain and tension in the body.

Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that uses props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease to facilitate better health and overall balance. Restorative yoga aims to bring us back to an understanding of rest in a world that is constantly on the go. Students will be guided into poses of comfort and lay in them for 10 or more minutes while being supported by cozy pillows and blankets. The use of props in this practice allows the body to safely and gently open and release any tension you may be holding onto in the mind or body.

By combining both practices students can experience profound inner healing and clarity on both a physical and energetic level. As students are guided into restorative poses, Chris will go around and give the loving energy of reiki to each student to promote deeper relaxation and healing. Included in the practice will also be a grounding meditation/breathwork, some gentle movement, and pulling of oracle cards for intention setting and guidance.
